Police: Baby Left Unattended at Walmart, Parents Arrested

Stroller found unattended by another customer, according to Prince William County Police.

The parents of an 8-month-old baby girl found unattended at Walmart on Sunday were arrested by Prince William County Police, authorities said on Monday. 

Kenia and Allister Odum, both 30 and of Towering Oak Way in Manassas are each charged with felony child neglect, Prince William Police reports show. 

The baby was found sitting in a stroller inside the store at 9401 Liberia Ave by another Walmart customer, who alerted staff just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Several announcements about the child were made through the store's public address system but no one responded and employees called police. 

As officers were talking to store employees the child's parents showed up, police said.

They had been in the store all along, Jonathan Perok, spokesman for the PWC police said. 

The child wasn't harmed during the incident. 

The suspects were arrested after a brief investigation. Bond information isn't available on either suspect, police said.
