Police Seeking Public's Assistance in Armed Cab Driver Robbery Spree

Officers have responded to five armed robberies in the Manassas area involving cab drivers during the past two weeks.

The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in providing information about a series of armed robberies involving cab drivers in the Manassas area.

Officers have responded to investigate five reported armed robberies involving cab drivers between Dec. 9 and 16. In each reported case, a man of similar clothing and physical description displayed a knife and robbed the cab driver of money before fleeing on foot.

All five incidents have occurred in close geographical proximity along Ashton Avenue. No injuries have been reported in any of the robberies. A timeline of the incidents is provided below:

  • Dec. 16 at 3:21 a.m. – Vernon St. and Tower Pl in Manassas
  • Dec. 15 at 2:57 p.m. – 10700 block of Sudley Manor Dr in Manassas
  • Dec. 14 at 1:11 p.m. – Notre Dame St. and Hiram Ct in Manassas
  • Dec. 14 at 6:05 p.m. – 16000 block of Blendia Ln and Ashton Ave. in Manassas
  • Dec. 9 at 4:53 p.m. – Adler Ln and Coachcrest Ct in Manassas

The suspect is described as a 20 to 25-year-old 6’10”, 160 to 175 pound black male with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700 or 1-866- 411-TIPS. Callers are not required to identify themselves and could earn up to a $1,000 cash reward.
