Couple's 'Cook in Tuscany' Named a Top 15 Foodie Destination
George and Linda Meyers spend half the year at home in Prince William County, and the other half leading culinary tours in Tuscany, Italy.

The dream business of two Prince William County residents has been named to a prestigious USA Today Top 15 list.
Cook in Tuscany, the creation of the Haymarket husband-and-wife team of George and Linda Meyers, was recently named one of the Top 15 Foodie Destinations by USA Today.
The business sees George and Linda spending six months out of the year at home in Haymarket, and the other six months of the year touring the renowned region of Tuscany in Italy, immersing themselves in everything culture- and food-related.

Cook in Tuscany takes George and Linda's customers on a six-day tour, with all-inclusive Tuscan cooking classes in the medieval, walled village of Montefollonico, Tuscany. The Meyerses personally take guests on wine tours, cheese-making tours and truffle hunts as well, creating "an immersive experience in Tuscan cuisine and culture."
The Meyerses say they have simply always had a fond place in their hearts for the Tuscan region, after visiting there so many times in the past.

Interestingly, both George and Linda's prior careers had nothing to do with food or travel. George is a retired United States Air Force pilot, and Linda, a retired Prince William County school teacher. But over the years, they regularly enjoyed trips to their favorite travel spot, Tuscany.
Over time, these trips became Cook in Tuscany, a culinary travel destination, where guests from around the globe can cook alongside Tuscan cooks--cooks not taught in culinary schools, but from their Tuscan mothers and grandmothers.
Natives of New Orleans and high school sweethearts, the Meyerses shared a long-time passion for good food.
“Cook in Tuscany started as just a way to enjoy our time in Tuscany, and then we realized we wanted to share some of this joy and it turned into a culinary tour,” said Linda.
George and Linda are proud to have their business named to USA Today's list of the Top 15 Foodie Destinations. Cook in Tuscany has also been recommended by JourneyWoman and Epicure & Culture.
