Prince William Football Teams Seek To Advance In Playoffs
Three Prince William County high school football teams advanced to regional seminals after victories in the first round of the playoffs.
Playoff high school football is entering its second round this weekend across Virginia. The varsity football teams from three Prince William County high schools will be competing in regional seminal games on Friday, Nov. 22.
Brentsville District High School will be playing James Monroe High School from Fredericksburg in the Class 3 Region B semifinal game, with a kick-off time of 7 p.m. at Brentsville’s field in Nokesville. Brentsville defeated George Mason High Scho0l from Falls Church to advance to the regional semifinals.
Freedom High School, located in Woodbridge, will face Massaponax High School from Spotsylvania County in Class 6 Region B semifinal action, with a 7 p.m. kickoff at Freedom High School. Freedom defeated John Champe High School from Loudoun County in the first round.

In another Class 6 Region B semifinal game, Patriot High School, also located in Nokesville, takes on Colonial Forge High School from Stafford County, with a kickoff at 7 p.m. at Patriot High School. Patriot defeated fellow Prince William County school Hylton last Friday in the Class 6, Region B quarterfinals.
