Prince William Vaccine Update: Restrictions Ease Across The State

The Prince William Health District offered updates on the community's mass vaccination clinic, and relayed the state's eased restrictions.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — The Prince William Health District continued to administer shots at the community vaccination center in Woodbridge, and at the clinic at the Manassas Mall. Meanwhile, Governor Northam announced that the state would ease some coronavirus restrictions on April 1.

On Thursday, the limits will expand for indoor and outdoor social gatherings. Indoor gatherings will be able to host 50 people instead of 10. The limit on outdoor gatherings will grow to 100 people instead of 25.

The governor also announced preliminary guidance for in-person graduations at the state's academic institutions. Outdoor graduations could have up to 5,000 people, while indoor events would be limited at 500 attendees.

The county's health district provided additional guidance for people who are being vaccinated at the community vaccination center in Woodbridge. The health district said people with appointments should bring a copy of their invitation and arrive no more than 15 minutes early for their appointment.

The community vaccination center at the former Gander Mountain location near Potomac Mills has the capacity to administer up to 3,000 vaccines per day. The center is administering the Pfizer vaccine.

The health district's clinic at the Manassas Mall is administering the Moderna vaccine this week. They reminded residents to bring proof of residence or employment in the county to their appointment.

The clinic is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday. The clinic will not be open on Sunday. The county's vaccine call center will also be closed on Sunday, April 4 in observance of Easter.

To register for the vaccine, residents should sign up for the state's preregistration list. Anyone can preregister for the vaccine, regardless of their current eligibility. The Prince William Health District pulls from the state's list to schedule vaccine appointments.
