Rodney James Wells, 69, of Manassas, passed away unexpecectly February 3rd, 2016.

Born November 25th, 1946 in Texas, he was the son of Robert J. Wells and the late Olive Cary Wells. On March 18, 1987 in Manassas, he married the former Ellen Crutcher, who survives.

Mr. Wells was a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service for many years, delivering mail in the Centreville - Westfield’s area of Northern Virginia. After his retirement, he worked for the CARQUEST Auto Parts Store in Manassas for over five years.

Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Ellen Wells of Manassas; his father, Robert J. Wells of Fredericksburg; his seven children, Ashley Wells of Manassas; Arielle Wells of Virginia Beach; Dawn Stanley of Florida; Jennifer Wells of Fredericksburg; Kristin Wall of Haymarket; Kimberly Maxwell of Annandale; Keri Prevost of Manassas; one sister, Cheryl Moynahan and her husband Richard of Fredericksburg; two brothers, Michael Wells of Dale City; David Wells and his wife Debbie of Manassas; 14 grandchildren, including Jeremy and Braeden Wells, and Jacob Thomas whom he has helped raise and were the light of his eye; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12th, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, with a celebration of life service beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Private interment will take place in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Virginia.
