VA, DC Snowfall Totals: How Much Snow Fell In Towns, Counties

VIRGINIA — Parts of Virginia were projected to get 6 to 12 inches of snow and sleet Wednesday. So what were the actual snow totals on Dec. 16 in the state and the District of Columbia?

The highest measurement that has come in so far was in Shenandoah County, where Besaye had 11.5 inches of snow.

Two other counties had double-digit snowfall, based on preliminary measurements submitted to the National Weather Service:

• In Frederick County, Cedar Grove had 10 inches of snow.
• In Rockingham County, Criders got 10 inches.

The District of Columbia was on the edge of the storm with 1 inch of snow reported at Dalecarlia Reservoir and seven-tenths of an inch reported in Northeast Washington.
