Vaccine Call Centers Staffed By Library Workers In Prince William

Library staff in Prince William County will now support the county's COVID-19 vaccine call centers.

MANASSAS, VA — Library workers in Prince William County are going to help staff the county's new COVID-19 vaccine call centers, according to a press release. As a result, the county will only offer curbside pickup service beginning on Monday, Feb. 1.

"Contact-free curbside pickup was first offered just a week after Prince William Public Libraries first closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020," said Deborah Wright, director of Prince William Public Libraries. "It has since become a popular service throughout the remainder of 2020 and will become part of Prince William Public Library’s standard services in the future."

While the county's library buildings are not open to the public, other library services are still available to the public. Although many library staff members will be supporting the county's call center, the libraries will still offer phone assistance, and programming available on its website and on social media.
