Victim ID'ed In Aug.10 Slaying In Manassas

Police said a 54-year-old Manassas woman died at the scene after a confrontation with the accused.

Prince William County Police investigators have identified the victim in an Aug. 10 slaying resulting in the arrest of one suspect.

Police said Terri Jo Hilbrand, 54, of Manassas died after suffering injuries during an altercation at a home on Rugby Road.

Authorities responded to a residence in the 8900 block of Rugby Road just after 11:45 p.m. Friday when a caller said a neighbor's family member was assaulting a woman in that neighbor's home.
Police said Hilbrand, believed to be an acquaintance of the accused, was found unconscious near the front door of the residence. She died at the scene.

Police detained the suspect, identified as 56-year-old Dale Andrew Wolfe of Manassas, in another area of the home. Wolfe is charged with murder and is held without bond.
The homeowner of the Rugby Road residence, an 84-year-old man, was sleeping when he heard commotion and later saw the woman being assaulted with a blunt object when he went to check out the noise, according to police. The man was pushed aside by the accused when he tried to intervene and sustained a minor injury, police said.

The Wolfe suffered a laceration to his arm and was taken to the hospital. The homeowner was also taken to the hospital.
