Virginia Ann Carlisle, 88

Virginia Ann Carlisle, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Caton Merchant House, Manassas, VA.

She was born on April 5, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Charles James and Margaret Mary (Fitzgerald) Connell. She retired from The U.S. Geological Survey as a cartographer.

Virginia raised six children with her husband, Irvin. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Irvin Ray Carlisle; and survived by her loving children: Kathy Fadely of Manassas, VA, Mike Carlisle and wife Carol of Brookeland, TX, Mary Carlisle of Manassas, VA, Susan Torres and husband Oscar of Fairfax, VA, Patty Berwager and husband Steve of Longwood, FL and Maureen Tanner and husband Bill of Manassas, VA; brother: Bob Connell of St. Louis MO; grandchildren: Kristy, Suzanne and Stephen Fadely; Jennifer Schemenauer, Michael Carlisle, Kimberly Turner, Angie Warren, Joe Carlisle, Tony, Chris, Julie and Daniel Torres; Becky Roberts, Donnie and Justin Letzkus; Matt Berwager, Lindsey and Carly Tanner; great grandchildren: Andy Fadely, Ryan and Emily Schemenauer; Whitney Carlisle, Kayla and Nicole Turner; Holly Warren, Eric Ascencio, Christian and Noah Torres and Emma Roberts.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 12:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, VA with Rev. Lee Roos officiating. Interment will follow at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA.
