Virginia Weather Forecast: Standard Fall Monday Before Much Cooler Week

STERLING, VA — After a typical fall day Monday, we'll see much cooler temperatures this week, with lows in the upper 30s as we wake up to patchy frost on at least one morning.

The week starts with a windy Monday: gusts could reach as high as 22 mph Monday night. The high Monday will be 65 degrees, but we won't get out of the mid 50s for most of the week.

The forecast Tuesday night and Wednesday morning calls for patchy frost.

A chance for showers is in the forecast Thursday and Friday, but should clear out as things warm up a little for the weekend.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 57. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night: Patchy frost after 3am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 37. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: Patchy frost before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 55.

Thursday: A chance of showers after 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Friday: A chance of showers before 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.
