MANASSAS, VA — Veterans Day, a federal holiday to honor those who have served in the military, will mean some schedule changes in Manassas.

City of Manassas government offices, for example, will be closed. Below are the schedule changes to know for the holiday in Manassas.

City of Manassas government offices: Closed on Nov. 11

Prince William County Schools: There will be no school for students Nov. 11.

Manassas City Schools: Closed on Nov. 11.

Local and state courts: Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed on Nov. 11.

Virginia Railway Express: VRE does not operate on Veterans Day. For more information, visit www.vre.org.

Libraries: On Nov. 11, the Prince William Public Library system will be closed.

Historic Sites: The Manassas National Battlefield Park grounds are open daily from dawn to dusk. The visitor center is closed due to the coronavirus crisis.

Post offices: Veterans Day is observed as a holiday at the U.S. Postal Service.

Landfill/Recycling: The County Landfill in Manassas will open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Veterans Day, as will the Balls Ford Road Compost Facility, which will be open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents may also take recycling to several drop-off trailers throughout the county.

Trash Collection: Curbside trash/recycling collection schedules will not be affected by the holiday.
