$500K Winning Lottery Ticket Sold At Bristow Sheetz

A man from Fauquier County won $500K from Virginia Lottery's "100X The Money" game. He bought his ticket at a Sheetz on Nokesville Road.

Larry Potter, a resident of Midland in Fauquier County, won $500,000 from a lottery ticket he purchased from the Sheetz on Nokesville Road in Bristow. He played the lottery's "100X The Money" game, the Virginia Lottery said.

BRISTOW, VA — A lottery ticket worth $500,000 was sold at the Sheetz on Nokesville Road in Bristow, according to the Virginia Lottery. The lucky player was Larry Potter, a resident of Fauquier County.

Potter's prize came from the Virginia Lottery's "100X The Money Game." He discovered he'd won while he was filling up his gas tank.

"I was ecstatic," he told lottery officials as he claimed his prize. "I was beside myself!"

Potter's $500,000 prize is the second prize in this particular games. Three top prizes worth $7 million each are still unclaimed, according to the Virginia Lottery.

The odds of winning the top prize in the "100X The Money" game are 1 in 2,611,200. However, smaller prizes are available starting at $30. The odds of winning any prize from the scratcher are 1 in 2.77.

Potter is retired, and told lottery officials that he would use his winnings to work on home renovation projects.
