Chicken Zoning Ordinance Hearing Deferred

Prince William Board of County Supervisors has deferred a public hearing on the chicken and fowl zoning amendment until after a work session.

The board was originally supposed to hold a public hearing last night on the amendment after several language changes were requested at the Planning Commission's meeting on Sept. 3.

In an e-mail received from District Supervisor Marty Nohe, passed on to Patch from MIDCO President Martin Jeter, Nohe said Chairman-at-Large Corey Stewart announced at the afternoon session that the amendment would not be on last evening's docket.

According to Nohe, the board will have a work session on Sept. 21 for the zoning ordinance and will have a public hearing on the issue on Oct 5.

This issue is county-wide and if approved, the zoning will be applicable to lots under two acres in addition to a range of lots over ten acres in size.
