Cooling Centers Open Across Prince William County

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Cooling centers across Prince William County are now open after a heat advisory was issued for northern Virginia. The county's libraries will be open for residents on Tuesday, July 6 and Wednesday, July 7 for residents looking to escape the heat.

In a news release, the Prince William County government said temperatures could 97 degrees, with a heat index as high as 105. The high temperatures are expected to continue throughout the day on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Across Prince William County, libraries will offer shelter to residents starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Main libraries will be open until 8 p.m., while smaller neighborhood libraries will close at 5 p.m.
