On June 15, officials may lift capacity limits, social distancing regulations, and safety measures.
This is the plan if COVID-19 cases continue to decrease and the number of vaccine recipients rise, according to Governor Ralph Northam. Officials are still going to evaluate mask use.

“We still have work to do. We’re not at the finish line yet, and we still need to take the precautions that we all know work,” Northam said in a COVID-19 briefing on Thursday. “But we’re approaching a time when we can think differently about how we interact, especially people who are vaccinated.”
COVID-19 cases are dropping in Virginia, where there have been less than 1,000 new ones each day during the last couple of weeks.
There has also been a decrease in deaths linked to COVID-19. The number of those who are hospitalized and test positive for the virus is the lowest it has been since October.
