
While the Fairfax burglar is still at-large, there are still electronics burglaries taking place in the community. Police recommend that residents lock and secure all doors, windows and belongings before leaving the house or going to bed.
On Oct. 15, a homeowner at the 13600 block of Greenwood Drive reported to police that $4,000 worth of electronics were missing from the house. According to the homeowner, the burglary happened between 9 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. the same day. Police said that entry appeared to have been made through a rear sliding glass door that was pried open.
A homeowner at the 15900 block of Uppsala Court reported to police that electronics valued at $1,000 were missing from the residence on Oct. 19. The homeowner told police that the burglary happened between 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 and 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 19. Police said that the burglar came in through an unlocked sliding glass door.

Electronics and jewelry valued around $10,000 were reported missing by a homeowner at the 14800 block of Darbydale Avenue. The homeowner told police that the burglary happened between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 19. Police think the burglar came through an unlocked kitchen window.
At the 14000 block of Mathews Drive, a homeowner reported an attempted burglary to police on Oct. 16. According to the homeowner, the incident happened between 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 16. Police said that the burglar tried to get through a kitchen window that had been broken, but failed to enter the house. No items were reported missing.
