The theater department at Woodbridge Sr. High School selected the classic play 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose for their fall performance. Terri Caretti, the director, decided to double cast the show and have two performances: one with the traditional all-male cast, and another with an all-female cast. There are only two performances left. 12 Angry Women will perform Friday, November 12th at 7:30pm and 12 Angry Men on Saturday, November 13th at 7:30pm. Tickets can be bought at the door and are $5 for students and children and $7 for adults.
Â
The play depicts a jury deciding upon the fate of a young man who may have killed his father. When Caretti was asked why she choose to do two different casts she said, "Because I wanted to see if all-male and all-female shows' outcomes would be perceived differently." She added, "Even though the characters are the same, the actors and actresses play it differently."Â She rehearsed with the students daily; she would work with one cast on the school's stage, while the other cast ran lines in her classroom and then the groups would switch.
