'First Day Hike' Jan. 1 at Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge
Saturday is the deadline to register. The event will feature a couple of two-hour hikes ending with a bonfire by the pier.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Saturday is the deadline to register for the annual Jan. 1 First Day Hike at Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge, 2001 Daniel K. Ludwig Drive.
Park experts Brendon Hanafin and Jim Klakowicz will lead the the two hikes, the first from 10 a.m.-noon and the other from noon-2 p.m.
It'll begin with a quick tour of this history museum and then proceed with a walk down the Potomac Trail to Freestone Point, through Lee's Woods Trail before wrapping up by the pier for a bonfire.
