Friday Morning Fire Displaces Three at Grayson Road Residence

Three adult residents of a two-story Grayson Road home in Woodbridge were displaced by a fire early Friday morning.

Fire and rescue units responded to a structure fire at a two-story home on the 14000 block of Grayson Road in Woodbridge around 5:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14.

Crews determined the fire originated in a first-floor bedroom and proceeded to attack and extinguish the fire. Though no further extension of the fire was found, smoke and heat damage was discovered throughout the first and second floor.

Three of the home’s occupants, all adults, were home at the time and were alerted to the fire by a smoke detector. No injuries were reported.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.

  • Install smoke detectors on every level within the home including the basement and outside each sleeping area,
  • Test smoke detectors monthly and replace batteries as needed,
  • Change batteries when you change clocks (spring and fall), and
  • Replace smoke detectors every 10 years.
