Halloween’s Intriguing Origin!
Halloween is only a day away and I thought it would be interesting to go through it's history and what I do as an Ahmadi girl on this day!

Halloween, a holiday that is celebrated all over the country. But, how did it start and why don’t I as an Ahmadi Muslims believe in Halloween?
Let’s go back to Halloween’s roots. It started as the festival of Samhain. Its purpose was to get rid of spirits and wandering ghosts. The ancient Celtic religion believed that after summer, the barrier between the spirit’s world and our world got very thin, so ghosts came through this passageway. They started All-Hallows Eve to scare the ghosts and spirits away. Halloween became a tradition in the 19th century when it was brought to us by Irish Immigrants. Pretty cool, right? Everyone’s perspectives are different, here’s mine.
I believe any fun that is based on associating partners with God is to be avoided. I don’t believe in Halloween, because I don’t believe that the dead can come back to Earth, or that we need Halloween for children to have fun! I’m not saying to give up a family tradition like Halloween. All I am stating is why I do not believe in this tradition. So go out and have a good night, but just keep in mind what this day is about.
