Happy Birthday, Woodbridge Patch!

The news and information site celebrates its second birthday.

Things have been so busy lately, I almost forgot! Aug. 20 is Woodbridge Patch's second birthday. Break out the birthday cake!

Rachel Leon, the current editor of Woodbridge Patch, is on a well-deserved vacation but I'm happy to share a look back on some accomplishments from the past year.

Woodbridge Patch hit over 1,000 Facebook likes and Twitter followers in 2011. We covered , , , , and some severe flooding.

Rachel and I both earned Society of Professional Journalism awards for our coverage of the flooding on Woodbridge and Lake Ridge-Occoquan Patches.

But there's so much more that makes Woodbridge Patch a community site. We love our Local Voices bloggers, our tipsters and our neighbors. As many of you know, Woodbridge is my hometown. I'm very happy to still be in the area with a stellar team delivering news and information that matters to the community.
