The Prince William County Animal Shelter is hosting an event with IKEA in Woodbridge for National Love Your Pet Day on Saturday, Feb. 20.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — The Prince William County Animal Shelter is hosting a donation drive at the IKEA in Woodbridge on Feb. 20. The event will run from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday in honor of National Love Your Pet Day.
Representatives from the animal shelter will also have information on-hand about volunteering and foster opportunities. Though the shelter won't have any animals at the event, they will provide information about the adoptable animals that are available.
"As we are nearly two months into the new year, the shelter continues to be on mission in helping re-home as many animals as possible," said Jeremy Beal, communications manager for the Prince William County Animal Control Bureau. "We are extremely happy to partner with IKEA in helping spread love to our shelter animals."

"We feel like we know our customers, and almost 50 per cent of the population in Prince William County live with a pet," said Wendy Rogers, Communications and Event Specialist at IKEA. "So, celebrating National Love Your Pet Day just seems like a natural thing to do."
Those who can't make it to the event in person can still donate to the animal shelter through their website. The event at IKEA will also include a giveaway of a pet-friendly gift basket.
