Man Charged In Shooting On I-95: State Police
A man from Woodbridge was charged in connection with a shooting on Interstate 95 on Tuesday in Chesterfield County, according to police.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man from Woodbridge was arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that occurred on I-95 on Tuesday, May 11, according to a news release from the Virginia State Police. The man, Tavon Gray, is now being held at the Chesterfield County Jail.
Authorities said that the shooting occurred around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11. State troopers responded to the area near mile marker 60, where three people told police that another motorist shot at them on southbound I-95.
The victims were travelling in a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck near Route 10 when another driver fired a gun at them, according to the police report. The driver of the pickup truck pulled over onto the right shoulder of the roadway and contacted authorities.

None of the people in the truck were injured, police said. Authorities did not disclose a possible motive for the shooting, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Tavon Gray was arrested in connection with the shooting on Tuesday, May 11. He is being held without bond at the Chesterfield County Jail. He is charged with shooting from a vehicle, shooting at an occupied vehicle, reckless handling of a firearm, and attempted malicious wounding.

Gray was arraigned on Wednesday. His next court date is scheduled for July 9, 2021.
