Marine Corps Museum Reopening To Public, May 17

History enthusiasts will be able to explore a Prince William County site again.

The National Museum of the Marine Corps is reopening on May 17, according to the museum’s website.

Community members can check out the Scuttlebutt Theater, the Medal of Honor Theater, Museum Store, Tun Tavern, Semper Fidelis Memorial Park and the Children’s Playground.

In addition to these areas, visitors may view the Legacy Walk, which is a timeline that brings visitors to galleries, and progress on the Final Phase project.

Specific places, like the Children’s Gallery, are closed.

Located at 18900 Jefferson Davis Highway in Triangle, the National Museum of the Marine Corps will be accessible between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day, aside from Christmas.

Masks are required for those 6 years old and older and recommended for kids who are between 2 and 6.

Visitors must practice social distancing, wash their hands, and avoid touching the exhibits.

Officials are asking community members to come back to any crowded areas when there are fewer people congregating in them.

Only a certain number of people will be allowed in the museum at one time.

Anyone experiencing a fever or COVID-19 symptoms should not visit that day.

The facility’s water fountains won’t be operational. However, unopened, clear water bottles that contain 20 ounces or less are permitted.
