Northern Virginia Weather: Summery Work Week

STERLING, VA — Although the approaching work week will be the final such one of summer, what with Friday being the first day of autumn, the weather in the Northern Virginia once again will be on the warm and muggy side — especially for this time of year. That's the word from the local branch of the National Weather Service in Sterling.

Highs throughout the week are expected to be in the mid 80s, and that'll continue through the first day of the weekend. Lows should be in the mid to upper 60s. Tonight: Isolated showers before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday: A slight chance of showers after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday Night: A slight chance of showers before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers after 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. North wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84.
