Route 123 sees an average of 71,000 vehicles where the two roads daily, according to a release from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The average for Old Bridge Road at the intersection is 45,000 vehicles.

Officials are requesting input from commuters for a study on possible updates.

Building a partial or full grade-separated interchange, expanding lanes, and changing and moving traffic signals are some options being considered.

A presentation and a survey that’s available until July 6 can be found on the VDOT website.
