Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car On Minnieville Road: Cops
A 56-year-old pedestrian died after he was struck by a car on Minnieville Road on Thursday evening, according to the police department.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 56-year-old man died after he was struck by a car on Minnieville Road on Thursday, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Authorities said the man was not in a crosswalk when he was hit by the car.
Around 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, officers responded to the area of Minnieville Road near Noblewood Plaza to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian. Officers determined that a 2016 Ford Mustang was travelling eastbound on Minnieville Road when it hit a pedestrian in the intersection at Noblewood Plaza.
Investigators with the police department said the man was walking in the roadway, outside of a crosswalk, when he was struck. The driver of the Mustang, a 29-year-old man from Woodbridge, remained on the scene as emergency personnel responded. The driver was not injured, police said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died of injures he suffered during the crash, according to authorities.
Investigators noted that speed, alcohol, or drug use were not factors in the crash.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim. The police department said the victim would be identified after his family was notified.
