Oldest house in Woodbridge hosted a fall event yesterday.
Rippon Lodge, Woodbridge's oldest house, hosted its annual Fall Harvest Festival yesterday for families and kids. Among the activities on the house's grounds were butter churning, spolling thread, tutorials on corn husk dolls and hay rides.
Historical displays of colonial cuisine and entertainment were available for just $5 while band Skystone serenaded the crowd throughout the day. Rippon Lodge was built around 1747 by Richard Blackburn, the residence's namesake address, and overlooks Neabsco Creek and the Potomac River.
