Police Release Photos of Woodbridge Shooting Suspects

Photos are now available that picture several people who are suspected in connection with a shooting in Woodbridge last week, police said.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Photos are now available that depict possible suspects in last week's Woodbridge shooting, according to the Prince William County Police Department. One girl in a nearby apartment was grazed by a bullet from the shooting, but no major injuries were reported.

Authorities originally responded to the 2700 block of Yosocomico Lane in Woodbridge at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 17 to investigate a report of gunfire. Residents in the area told police that they heard gunshots before two groups of people left the area on foot and in cars, according to the police report.

During their investigation, officers determined that there were two groups of people who exchanged gunfire. One group was near a shed on George Page Place, while the other was at a playground on Yosocomico Lane, police said.

During the gunfire, one bullet entered a nearby apartment, police said. A 9-year-old girl was grazed by the bullet.

Rescue personnel responded, and the girl was treated at the scene with minor injuries, according to the police report. Authorities said a tree and an unoccupied car were also struck by bullets, but no other injuries were reported.

Residents in the area told police that they heard gunshots before two groups of people left the area on foot and in cars, according to authorities.

Now, detectives are looking to identify five people who they believe were involved in the shooting. In their Facebook post, the police department also included a photo of a car that may have been used to help some people flee the scene.

In the comments of the police department's Facebook post, residents expressed their concerns and hopes. "Enough is enough," one commenter wrote.

"We play there," another resident wrote. "Stop going to playgrounds with guns!"
