Prince William Schools Consider August Graduation Dates

In-person high school graduations for Prince William County Public schools have been scheduled for August, school officials have announced.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA – In-person high school graduations for Prince William County Public schools have been scheduled for August, school officials have announced.

Original graduations scheduled for June were canceled due to the closure of schools across the state due to efforts to stop the spread of the new coronavirus.

High schools principals have recommended graduation ceremony dates of Aug. 4, 5, 6 and 7. Specific dates and time will be decided in the next few weeks, school officials said.

The graduation ceremony for Independence Nontraditional School is tentatively planned for Aug. 3. PACE West will hold its graduation ceremony on Aug. 19. Additionally, the Governor's School @ Innovation Park and Thomas Jefferson High School will follow dates determined by the City of Manassas and Fairfax County.

School officials are considering a number of venues that will allow families to attend, but tickets may be limited depending on social distancing requirement at the time and the size of the venue.
