Pete is a dog available for adoption now at the Prince William County Animal Shelter, and he is ready to find a relaxing home to join.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Pete is a dog who is available for adoption now at the Prince William County animal shelter. He is a calm and relaxed pup who is ready to find a home of his own.

"Pete is a very sweet, quiet dog who just wants someone to give his affection to," the animal shelter wrote on Pete's PetFinder page. "He is a great dog!"

Pete is between 3 and 5 years old, and has not been neutered yet. Currently, Pete weighs about fifty pounds, according to the animal shelter.

Pete knows some basic commands, like sit, but he could use some more obedience training. Primarily, Pete could use some help behaving on a leash.

According to his PetFinder page, Pete was an owner release. The animal shelter did not have information about his interactions with kids, cats, or other dogs.

"Come say hello to Pete," the animal shelter said. "Give him a chance at a new story."

The Prince William County Animal Shelter's dog kennel is now open for general visitation without an appointment. The number of visitors at one time may be limited.
