Stranger Sexually Assaults Woman In Dumfries: Police
A stranger sexually assaulted a woman while she was sitting in her car at a parking lot in Dumfries, say Prince William County Police.
DUMFRIES, VA—A stranger sexually assaulted a woman while she was sitting in her car Sunday afternoon at a parking lot in the 17000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, according to Prince William County Police. Aaron Cardwell, Sr., 52, of the 17300 block of Rocky Mount Ln in Dumfries, was tracked down and charged with two counts of sexual battery.
Shortly before 3 p.m., police began investigating a sexual assault that occurred earlier that afternoon. A 19-year-old woman said an unknown man approached her and then got into her vehicle on the passenger side, after which he sexually assaulted her.
He eventually left, and police were able to find him based on information he gave to the victim.
