Susan Rena Saunders, 52

Susan Rena Saunders, age 52 of Woodbridge, VA passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, February 6, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. She was born on October 19, 1963 to Gladys Williams and the late Douglas Williams Sr.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Saunders Sr. of almost 30 years, their son Michael Saunders Jr., sister, Julia Spindle of California, and brother, Douglas Williams Jr. of Woodbridge, VA. She was the proud and devoted aunt of (5) nieces, (5) nephews, (2) great-nephews, and (1) great-niece.

Susan was a devoted wife, loving daughter, amazing mother, and loved by all that knew her. While Susan was visually impaired that never slowed her down, she was a phenomenal cook, her home was always immaculate, she loved special times dining out with her husband, and she was a passionate supporter of St. Jude’s Children Hospital, The American Cancer Society, and the Wounded Warriors Project.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home located at 4143 Dale Boulevard, Dale City, VA from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m., a memorial service will begin at 12:00p.m., and a celebration of her life will follow afterwards at the family’s home.
