VDOT: Lane Closures Week of Aug. 20

Virginia Department of Transportation advises of lane closures for the Interstate 95 Express Lanes project:  

Nighttime work - Closures occur between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

• I-95 reversable HOV lanes from Dumfries Rd. (Route 234) to Duke St. - Road closed Monday - Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday night 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. for sign work, pavement markings and test bores. Traffic will be directed to use the general purpose lanes.
• I-95 revisable HOV lanes from Dumfries Rd. (Route 234) to Fairfax Co. Pkwy. (Route 286) - Single lane closed Sunday night for test bores.
• I-95 north and south between Exit 169, Franconia/Old Keene Mill Rd (Route 644) and 148, Russell Rd. - Single lane closures Sunday - Thursday nights for test bores and barrier movement.
• I-95 south between Exit 150, Joplin Rd. (Route 619) and Exit 148, Russell Rd. - Single lane closed Monday - Friday nights for temporary barrier work.
• I-395 north and south between Exit 169, Franconia/Old Keene Mill Rd. (Route 644) and Exit 2, Edsall Rd. (Route 648) - Single lane closed Sunday - Thursday for test bores. 

Daytime work - Closures occur Monday - Thursday between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to noon unless otherwise noted.

• I-95 north from Exit 152, Dumfries Rd. (Route 234) to Exit 169, Franconia/Old Keene Mill Rd (Route 644) - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for barrier installation, trench and survey work.
• I-95 south from Exit 169, Franconia/Old Keene Mill Rd. (Route 644) to Exit 143, Garrisonville Rd. (Route 610) - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for test pits.
• I-395 north from Exit 2, Edsall Rd. (Route 648) to Exit 3, Duke St. (Route 236) - Right lane closed Monday - Friday for test pits.
• Backlick Rd. north from Forest View Dr. to Beverly Ln. - Right lane closed Monday - Friday for entrance work.
• Alban Rd. from Boudinot Dr. to Alban Station Ct. - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for entrance work. Two-way traffic will be directed by a flagger.
• Mine Rd. at I-95 - Single lane closed Wednesday and Thursday for survey work.
• Russell Rd. east and west at I-395 - Single lane closed Wednesday - Friday for test pits..
