Virginia Weather: Spring Ahead of Schedule, With 80 Degrees

Keep the light jacket handy, but the heavy coat may be headed for the back of the closet!

Temperatures felt good on Tuesday, they're going to feel great Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in northern Virginia at 80 degrees.

That National Weather Service notes that a river breeze will keep areas along the Potomac a bit cooler.

Showers this weekend may cool things off for all of us, but temps will be hanging around 70 degrees.

"This is more like May than March!" declares the Capital Weather Gang, giving the forecast a 10 out of 10.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 80. Southwest wind 3 to 8 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 80. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph.

Friday: A chance of showers, mainly before 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 66. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: A chance of showers after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Monday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
