
Warren Edward Kullberg, age 93, of Woodbridge VA died peacefully on January 19, 2015. Warren was born in Brooklyn NY to Paul and Katherine Kullberg. He grew up in Cranston RI.
Warren left home at the age of 14 to enter the religious life. As a Redemptorist father he served in several parishes in the country before leaving the priesthood in the 1960s.
Traveling in Europe on a bus trip in the 1970s, he met Mary Jane Witt. They married in 1974 and lived in Washington DC and Alexandria VA before settling in Woodbridge VA about 20 years ago. Throughout that time they were members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Woodbridge. His beloved Mary Jane predeceased him by 19 days, on December 31st, 2014.

He had a thirst for education and worked for the children of Washington DC for nearly two decades in positions at the District of Colombia Public Schools. Warren obtained a doctorate of education from George Washington University in 1986. He was a lifelong learner, continuing to attend a variety of classes into his 80s.
Warren was an avid writer and an accomplished pianist. He enjoyed painting, and woodworking and regularly took his sailboat out on the Potomac River.

In addition to his wife Mary Jane he is predeceased by his beloved brother, John Kullberg of Germantown MD, his sister, Marjorie Cooke of Annapolis MD and his nephew Evan Kullberg of Frostburg MD.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Karol Kullberg of Washington DC, nieces Kathryn Kullberg of Maryland and Kristen Kullberg of Washington and cousin Mary Jo Fox of Virginia. A funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 on Monday January 26th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 12805 Valleywood Drive, Woodbridge VA 22192. A reception at the church will follow the service.
