Weather Roller Coaster: Sixties, Then Snow

The temperature this weekend will make it feel like spring has sprung, but we’ll get a sharp reminder next week that there’s still on more month of winter.

When the sun comes out Saturday, temperatures are expected to reach into the low 60s.

The Weather Channel’s message: “Enjoy this while it lasts.” By Monday night, we’ll be facing the threat of snow… again.

We may not know how much rain and/or snow will fall until the storm is almost here, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service.

The current outlook suggests it will begin as rain and transition to wintery perception — the reverse of the storm we had this week.

Capital Weather Gang says the chances for a big snow storm are iffy, particularly because of the nice weekend that will lead up to the snow.

“Don’t buy into the rumors that we’re destined for another blockbuster snowstorm,” they write. “That’s actually a fairly low likelihood scenario.”

Act Two — Snow?!

• Monday Night: A chance of rain and snow. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
• Tuesday: A chance of rain and snow. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
• Tuesday Night: Rain and snow likely. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
• Wednesday: Rain and snow likely. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
