We were a busy Patch this past week!

Here's what you missed:

Woodbridge Senior High School's girls varsity Field Hockey team won their home opener against Manassas' Stonewall Jackson High School.

Hurricane Earl was a swing and a miss for Virginia, but we kept you informed of what to do in the case of an emergency since September is "Emergency Preparedness Month."

Virginia's Department of Motor Vehicles had a statewide outage at their in-person customer service centers that shut down license renewals. Systems are back up and running after the mishap, and there's even an extension to expired licenses.

Woodbridge Patch'smusic and entertainment columnist, Jonathan Yi, profiled two local bands, Attractions and In Remembrance, that have exploded on the Woodbridge music scene.

Pending a Board of County Supervisors' hearing, chickens and other fowl (like emus) may be allowed on one-acre residential lots.

A motorcyclist involved in a severe crash on Aug. 28 died of related injures this week.
