What’s Open, Closed New Year’s Day 2021 In Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, VA — On New Year’s Day, residents in Woodbridge will leave behind a year marked by unprecedented hardship and challenges. After spending much of the year navigating the once-in-a-lifetime coronavirus pandemic, many will no doubt welcome 2021 with open arms.

As we ring in the new year in our town, many local facilities and government offices will take the day off to recognize the start of the new year.

• Here’s a look at what’s open and closed in the area on New Year’s:
• All Prince William County government buildings are closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1
• All Prince William County courts and court offices will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
• Prince William Public Library locations will be closed New Year's Day.
• The landfill and Balls Ford Road Compost Facility will be closed for New Year's Day. Normal operation will resume in both locations Saturday.

However, if you’re hoping to step out for some socially distanced shopping or dining, there are several stores and chain restaurants that will be open on New Year’s Day in your area or elsewhere, if you're traveling.
