What's Open, Closed For 4th Of July 2021 In Prince William County
Though the 4th of July is on a Sunday this year, some services are changing their hours on July 5 to give their employees time off.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — With COVID-19 metrics improved from earlier in 2021, many 4th of July celebrations will be returning. In Prince William County, many government employees will get an extra day of rest on Monday.
The Independence Day holiday falls on Sunday, July 4, which also means Monday, July 5 will be the observed holiday for closures.

Prince William County Government Offices: Closed on July 5

Manassas City Government Offices: Closed on July 5
Prince William County Courts: All courts, included the Prince William General District Court, will be closed on July 5.
Prince William County Libraries: All libraries in Prince William County will be closed from Saturday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5.
Prince William County Pools: Prince William County's pool and waterparks will be open on Sunday, July 4 and Monday, July 5. Veteran's Waterpark in Woodbridge will be closed on Monday for regular maintenance.
Manassas City Trash: Trash pickup in Manassas City will not be affected by the holiday.
Department of Motor Vehicles: The state's DMV offices will be closed on Monday, July 5.
OmniRide buses: OmniRide busses will not operate on Independence Day.
Metro: Metrorail will offer additional service on July 4 to accommodate riders attending fireworks displays. On July 5, trains will run on a Sunday schedule. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on both days. Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule on July 4 and 5. See timetables for details. MetroAccess customers can make reservations during the holiday, but subscription trips will be canceled both days.
Post offices: Closed on Monday, July 5.
Virginia Railway Express: VRE will not provide service on Monday, July 5.
Prince William Landfill: The landfill will be closed on Sunday, July 4. It will be open on Monday, July 5.
