What's Open, Closed For Labor Day 2020 In Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Summer may have looked different this year because of the pandemic, but Labor Day is still the time to bid the season farewell before pools close and kids start classes. In the Woodbridge area, there are various closings and schedule changes to know for the holiday.

On Monday, Sept. 7, Prince William County government offices will be closed to observe Labor Day. Students in Prince William County Public Schools will begin the school year in a virtual format the next day, Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Below are the schedule changes to know for the Labor Day holiday in and around Woodbridge:

Prince William County government offices: Prince William County government offices are closed on Monday, Sept. 7.

Courts: Circuit Court, General District Court, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed on Sept. 7.

Prince William County Public Schools: Sept. 7 is an observed holiday. The first day of school (virtual) is Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Libraries: All Prince William County Library branches will close from Sept. 5 through Sept. 7 and reopen Sept. 8.

Parks and Recreation: Most outdoor facilities operated by Prince William County Parks, Recreation & Tourism are open.

Leesylvania State Park: The state park will be open on Monday, Sept. 7.

Animal shelter: The Prince William County Animal Shelter is open by appointment only.

Post offices: U.S. Postal Service offices are closed on Monday, Sept. 7.

Trash and Recycling: The Prince William County Landfill and the Balls Ford Road Yard Waste Composting Facility will close at 2 p.m. Sept. 7 and reopen Sept. 8.

OmniRide: OmniRide will not be providing bus service on Monday, Sept. 7.

Virginia Railway Express: VRE does not provide service on Labor Day.
