Winter Homeless Shelter Opens Nov. 1 in Woodbridge

It'll be open 6:30 p.m.-7 a.m. daily through March 31, with hours extended when temperature drops below 32 degrees.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — With cold weather approaching, the Prince William Winter Shelter opens Nov. 1 at 14730 Potomac Mills Road for homeless people looking for warmth and shelter.

Run by the Prince William County Department of Social Services, it'll operate daily 6:30 p.m.-7 a.m., and hours will be extended when the temperature drops below 32 degrees.

The facility has 47 beds available on a first come, first served basis.

During the day, the county also provides a Drop-In Center program that helps connect people with mental health services, housing and employment assistance.
