Woman Pleads Guilty in Deadly Stabbing of Woodbridge High School Student

Diandra Samuels was one of twelve suspects in the attack on Kenny Diaz, according to reports.

Just a few months shy of trial, one suspect has pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the death of a Woodbridge High School student, according to The Washington Post.

Diandra Samuels, 20, was charged with first degree murder of the 18-year-old football student Kenny Diaz and had a trial date set in May.

A series of events between acquaintances of Samuels and Diaz led to the violent killing of the high school football player.

Investigations have claimed Samuels stole money from a friend of Diaz on Sept. 12. Witnesses claim that Diaz’s friend was buying marijuana from Samuels at the time.

Diaz and other acquaintances reportedly confronted Samuels at her house on Bellona Drive, while some of her acquaintances were there, on Sept. 21, the Post reports.

“One of those acquaintances, Dominic Smith, assaulted one of the other parties with a handgun which was taken from one of the acquaintances who accompanied Diaz. This caused the group to disperse and flee on foot,” police said in the fall.

According to court documents Diaz was forced into a vehicle by Samuels and her acquaintances and driven to the woods at Marumsco Acre Lake Park.

A witness claims that Samuels took ‘a huge machete-type weapon’ from under the driver’s seat and a few minutes later Diaz was stumbling out of the woods, holding his stomach, and bleeding.

Eleven others including four juveniles faced lesser charges, including abduction and assault by mob, according to the Post. Two of the adult suspects have pleaded guilty and five of them have court dates within the next four months.
