A Woodbridge man faces six charges of child pornography after allegedly downloading and transmitting images to himself via email.
Brandon Antoni Ohl, 33, of Woodbridge, was charged with six counts of child pornography, one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a schedule I or II narcotic.
After conducting a child pornography investigation, detectives from the Special Victims Unit and members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant on Ohl’s Woodbridge home.
According to police, Ohl knowingly downloaded photos of child pornography and emailed the images to himself on Nov. 8. Police received a tip about the emails through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, prompting detectives to investigate the incident on Dec. 15.
Police say Ohl is not believed to have known the children in the downloaded images. Detectives are continuing to investigate the case to identify possible victims. During a search of the residence, officials seized electronic devices and narcotics.
Following the investigation, Ohl was arrested Dec. 17. He is scheduled to appear before court Jan. 22, 2015.
