Woodbridge Restaurant Closes Doors After Fire

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A local restaurant has closed its doors for repairs following a fire Wednesday afternoon that caused heavy damage to the building, according to the Prince William County Fire & Rescue Department.

Firefighters responded at 1:48 p.m. Wednesday to the El Pollo Rico restaurant, at 13470 Minnieville Road, after a fire broke out in the building's exhaust ventilation duct system, the fire department said.

Smoke poured out of the building's roof, but the crew quickly brought the fire under control, and no injuries were reported, the fire department said.

The Prince William Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
