Bellevue Looks To Fill Open Seat On Civil Service Commission
Bellevue is seeking applicants to serve on a city commission tasked with overseeing public safety staffing.
BELLEVUE, WA — Bellevue city officials are searching for candidates to fill an open seat on the city's Civil Service Commission.
The five-member board is appointed by the city manager and tasked with overseeing the recruitment and assignment of firefighters and police officers. When an employee of either department is fired, suspended, or demoted, they can also request an investigation and public hearing from the commissioners to determine whether the disciplinary actions were proper.
Each member of the board must be a resident of Bellevue, and terms last for six years. No members can serve more than two consecutive terms. Members meet on the second Tuesday of January, April, July and October.
