Person Of Interest In Custody After AMC Parking Lot Shooting
Bellevue detectives spent Thursday morning following leads after a young man was shot and killed outside a movie theater Wednesday night.

BELLEVUE, WA — Bellevue police apprehended a "person of interest" Thursday afternoon while investigating a deadly shooting in a movie theater parking lot Wednesday night. The police department said an 18-year-old man was taken into custody in Renton without incident.
The police department confirmed the shooting shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday, reporting a victim with critical injuries and a suspect at large. Less than 30 minutes later, police said the man had died from his injuries.
Witnesses told police the shooter fled in a silver sedan with tinted windows and damage to the front passenger side. Officers said they found a car matching the description at the Renton house.

A Bellevue Police Department spokesperson told Patch Thursday that detectives worked through the night on the case and were following up on multiple leads by morning. Police said the victim was believed to be in his late teens and did not have identification. The King County Medical Examiner will formally identify him, pending the completion of an autopsy.
Detectives said the relationship between the men was unclear. Witnesses said the two were speaking in the parking lot until the one man fired his gun. Investigators are working to gather and review all available evidence, including traffic camera footage and surveillance from nearby businesses.
