Bellevue Parents Have Until Tuesday Night To Finish School Survey

The school district is looking to hear directly from parents, as Bellevue works to welcome back older learners in less than a month.

BELLEVUE, WA — The Bellevue School District is looking to hear from parents with 6th - 12th graders at home, as officials put the finishing touches on an in-person framework for secondary education students.

Tuesday, March 23, is the last day to complete the online survey, due by 10 p.m.

Earlier in the month, Gov. Jay Inslee directed all Washington schools to provide some in-person learning opportunities for all K-12 students by April 19. The Bellevue School District is working out the timeline and logistics for welcoming back older students in smaller groups and hoping to gauge how many families are interested in transitioning from fully-remote lesson plans.

"We want you to be aware that switching learning models may be like switching schools — new classmates, new teachers and new schedules — which can be disruptive to students in an already disruptive school year," officials wrote. If you wish to change learning models, we will work to accommodate your request."

While the district's specific plan for secondary students is still in the works, the district plans to offer classes split into two groups, each with 16 or fewer students.
