BELLEVUE, WA — The Bellevue Police Department arrested a man and a woman during an identity theft investigation, recovering dozens of stolen and counterfeit items, officials announced Thursday.

Police said an initial forgery report helped detectives unravel an "extensive ID theft thing," leading to the arrest of a 50-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman. Detectives reported the seizure of stolen credit credits, driver's licenses, tax documents, bank statements and passports, along with evidence of attempts to make counterfeit money and methamphetamine sales.

The police department said detectives will contact each victim whose personal information was recovered during the bust.
